Loved this pic of Vernazza (by jennycam). Will do that long hike for myself in the near future. Thanks! -- Terry

Stayed in Vernazza. It is a must see when visiting Italy. Try to stay at the Elizabetha. The owners of these lovely rooms are very friendly and they were even friendly enough to pose for pictures at the top of their hotel in hurricane like winds and freezing temperatures last March for us! Bring plenty of digital cards for breathtakeing photos...

Breathtaking views, magnificent place--hiking the Cinque-terre. You captured it beautifully.

Gorgeous picture! We had a wonderful time in this charming village except for the 163 stairsteps up to our room. But once there, it was beautiful.

I've stayed in Vernazza and enjoyed it. I love seeing pictures of it but I've never seen this angle. It shows my hotel perched at the top of the cliff. It doesn't usually show up in the usual angle of pictures of Vernazza.

I love Vernazza, a picturesque, hilly, and delightful town.
The hike to Monterroso was the highlight of my visit. It took about 2 hrs. hike
amidst the spectacular blue waters of the Mediterranean, vineyards, fantastic
views of the town as you ascend farther. I went last September 2010 and the
weather was perfect. My hotel was about hundred steps up so pack
light. You will love pesto, pizza, and gelato!

My husband and I visited Vernazza in 2008 and 2009. We stayed at a place near the post office owned by brothers who were twins. I believe it was something like el capitor? They also owned the restaurant. We had the best time and would certainly go again. In 2009, we actually stayed in lucca, another wonderful city, not on the water, and took a train to cinque de tierre. Loved it!! Thanks for the picture!! the twins were written up in Rick Steve's travel book, one of the years before we visited.
