Accor, the hotel company that runs chains like Ibis, Mercure, and Novotel, just announced a big sale for rooms reserved and paid for well in advance.
A Super Sale, actually, is what Accor is calling it, with rooms discounted by up to 50 percent off at more than 700 hotels and resorts worldwide. How good are the deals? Here's a sampling of what we found:
$38 a night in Auckland, New Zealand
$45 a night in Hong Kong
$45 a night in Nadi, Fiji
$47 a night in Lisbon, Portugal
$56 a night in Salzburg, Austria
$59 a night in Berlin, Germany
$67 a night in Rome, Italy
$70 a night in Nice, France

Also, sale rates are valid only for stays from December 12 to February 12. And finally, to reserve these and other sale rates, bookings must be made by Monday, November 1.
