Great shots. But I have a question about #5: they have the Eiffel Tower in Tokyo?!?
Oh, and while I know you were trying to avoid the obvious, you didn't have any usable pics of the NYC skyline to add?

The NYC skyline always reminds me of riding into Manhattan on the Flushing Line where the train is still overground in LIC, just before it makes the turn and runs parellel to Manhattan while descending to underground. At the moment of dawn, when building lights are still on and the rising sun lights all those buildings is one of the most breathtaking sights these old eyes have ever seen. Hard to capture by camera and the train windows are seldom clean, but worth the ride just to witness it.

Thanks for all your comments! I agree that the Tokyo photo may be startling; the resemblance of Tokyo Tower to the Eiffel Tower is uncanny. But the density of neon skyscrapers is a giveaway that we're not in Paris...
The Budget Travel staff is based in New York City, so naturally we had our eyes out for a great local shot. But surprisingly enough, we didn't find one that was truly special or different enough to make the cut for this slide show.
Janine, if you've got great NYC photos, please upload them! And Mike, I love your description of the experience of admiring the NYC skyline from the subway.
