Back in February, we asked you to cast a vote for the travel providers, services, programs, and destinations you love the most for our first-ever Readers' Choice awards, including which domestic airports you most prefer to fly from, to, or through. Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International, Orlando International, and San Francisco International took the top honors, and we want to know what sets these airports apart. Love the food? Roomier seats in the waiting areas? Speedy security lines? A great playground for kids? Leave your answers in the comments, and be sure to check out our special Readers' Choice issue this October!

My favorite airport is Bishop International Airport: Flint, Michigan. This airport is big enough to support the needs of the community yet small enough that you do not feel overwhelmed upon arrival. The parking lot is very close no need for a shuttle. Unlike other airports where you have to walk a country mile just to get to the entrance. More importantly, the employees there are always friendly and courteous.

Of all the places I've been around the world Singapore Changi Airport is definitely the cleanest and has the best leisure amenities..!

Hartsfield?! You're kidding! That used to be my home airport, and I still have nightmares about the bottleneck of a security line.
Weirdest airport until you get used to it: Kansas City, where every GATE has its own security line.
Best airport for food and shopping: Minneapolis/St. Paul, with lots of original sit-down restaurants that serve fresh whitefish and walleye, and the equivalent of a giant indoor mall when it comes to stores.
Worst airport I've ever been to: Manas, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, with one tiny point of entry (but no queue...) to the secure side and no food.

San Diego would be my pick. The City Bus picks up at two locations at the front door. The bus zips right to down town and across the street from the Cruise Ship Terminal. All the airport staff are friendly. The San Diego Airport is close to everything...

Portland International Airport in Oregon. Security people take their jobs seriously, and it makes me feel safer. The shops are folksy and not too crowded. It's very clean but not sterile. There's nice art and lots of green to see outside its windows. And there's something calming about its layout. Every time I come into the airport the environment automatically relaxes me. Bathrooms are kept clean and supplied.

My favorite is West Palm Beach Int. Just the right size. Quick and efficient security. Baggage claim is also quick. Lots of parking with fairly reasonably priced long-term parking. And I really love the FREE WiFi. Personnel are friendly and helpful. Only improvemnet would be a couple of more eating places. I don't shop, so I really dislike airports that have become shopping malls.
Worst airport I've been to was Nairobi - the check-in was just a mass of people pushing.

Atlanta-Hartsfield!!! What are these people on? It must be really good stuff. I will do almost anything to avoid that horror. Endlessly long terminals with no moving sidewalks and even within the same terminal one can risk a coronary simply trying to get to a connecting gate which, inevitably, is at the opposite end of the terminal from the inbound flight. There may be nice restaurants but who has time to check them out. And heaven help you if you need to change terminals for a connection. Miami is another nightmare. Favorite airport? Probably, as with most people, the one with which I am most familiar! DFW has become more bearable since the Sky Train was installed. And a former most hated, London Heathrow, is now, with Terminal 5, a more humane experience if you're only traveling British Airways international flights, though security is still a nightmare in London. Generally the medium sized airports are better: Prague, Venice, Munich.

The Sanford-Orlando Airport is my favorite airport. From check-in to gate it takes 30 minutes. Also, you have to love those $9.99 flights from Allegiant!

Sacramento airport has proved to be the most relaxing airport for me. It is very simple - go on the second floor, get through the security lines (which are very clean and fast), and you are all set. Having two branches of the gateways (in the form of "Y") seem to work well to keep the confusion down. Another especially nice feature of this airport - there is only one meeting/greeting place for the arriving passengers and you have time to find your party in the crowd while they are coming down the escalator. Sacramento airport used to have another nice feature but not anymore - you used to be able to have 30 minutes free parking to pick-up/drop off your party and the terminal is right across the street. I have flown in/out of JFK, La Guardia, SFO, Vegas, Phx, Fort Lauderdale, Kona, Heathrow in London, Moscow, Dayton, San Diego, Zurich, and others. Sacramento is by far has the least confusion and stress.

Savannah, GA had rocking chairs in a lovely central court last time I was there. I also found rocking chairs in San Antonio.
