Save/ShareIt's not just Gordon Brown singing the blues this month in London. The third annual Greenwich Beer and Jazz Festival takes place May 27 to 31 on the King Charles Lawn.
Music at the festival is more bop than bebop, more Acid Jazz than Trad jazz. Acts include The James Taylor Quartet, the Fun Lovin' Criminals, Hayseed Dixie, the Brand New Heavies, Incognito, and Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet. The setting is neo-classical, with performances in front of the architectural gems that make up the Royal Naval College.
More than 200 other British ales, like Sumer Lightning, Black Cat Ale and Fuller's London Pride, will be on tap. Pimms, cocktails, wine, and soft drinks will also be available.
The Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a trio of main acts performing each day. There's plenty of space to the side of the main stage—to laze with a picnic from Tesco on the lawns, or take a seat in the Soul Foods Garden. admission from $22 per day. greenwichbeerandjazz.com
