(Meg Zimbeck)
For those who are planning a Paris binge or simply want to digest the food scene vicariously, the following blogs are totally delicious.

David Lebovitz
A pastry chef and author who combines sweet recipes with acidic (and hilarious) tales about life in Paris. He also offers plenty of restaurant recommendations and reviews.

Chocolate & Zucchini
One of the earliest and still most-popular food bloggers, this young Parisian compliments her recipes with an incredibly helpful French-English food glossary, and guide to favorite markets, shops, and restaurants.

Dorie Greenspan
The author of four baking bibles, Dorie spends a good part of every year eating and writing in Paris. When she tells me where to buy pastry, I listen.

Alex Lobrano's Diner's Journal
The long-time local correspondent for Gourmet magazine wrote an excellent restaurant guide in 2008. He shares news and updated recommendations on this restaurant blog.

John Talbott's Paris
The most prolific eater/writer I have ever followed. As co-host of the food-geeky eGullet France Forum, John Talbott has his finger on the pulse of the local restaurant scene. The blog houses his own reviews, along with regular summaries of what everyone else has said.

Adrian Moore
The self-styled "bad boy" of the local food scene, Adrian has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in his role as a five star hotel concierge. Restaurant reviews and the occasional rant.

Ms. Glaze Pommes d'Amour
Now cooking in New York, this young foodie spent several years in the kitchen of a three-star Paris restaurant and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the local food scene. She also created a Paris tour for teens that many chaperones will find handy.

Simon Says!
The personal blog of Francois Simon, lead critic for Le Figaro and (some say) the inspiration for Anton Ego, the ill-humored critic from Ratatouille. Many articles in English, thanks in part to his collaborator Joe Ray.

Chrisoscope
Practice your French or simply enjoy the food porn from this prolific and opinionated eater. Handy categories will help you find a restaurant that's open for brunch or on Sunday.

Can I nominate myself? Here's my personal blog, where you'll find the reviews and other bits that don't make it into Budget Travel.

Uh oh... How many French in here? Only two, if I count well...

Posted By Do Espirito on July 15, 2009, 10:19 AM

Well, it's always a trade-off between finding blogs in English that our readers can use and ones that are written by locals...

Posted By Blog Editor on July 15, 2009, 10:22 AM

Pascale Weeks, author of C'est moi qui l'ai fait, recently started translating her posts into English here: http://scally.typepad.com/en/ She is a delightful writer, with imaginative and healthy recipes. I nominate her too!

More French blogs? Et Voilà!

In addition to the three mentioned above (Chocolate and Zucchini is bilingual), I also love the following French language food blogs:

Chez Ptipois
Food Intelligence
Julot (bilingual)
Table à Découvert
Le Fooding

What are your favorites - in English or French?

David Lebovitz is a favorite of mine - I can never wait to see his posts on my RSS feed. The other one that I love is Croque Camille (http://croquecamille.wordpress.com/) - she not only makes great stuff, but reading through her blog, you get the notion that you, too, can make some good food. :)

This is great! I'm traveling to Paris alone with my 11 year old and 15 year old who can't wait to try the pastries and crepes. They may not be bative French, but they're helpful to me!

Ah yes, Paris. Even though I was only there for a few hours last year. I still had no choice but to partake in it's deliciousness.

Another blog has become regular reading since I posted this list in July. Barbra Austin's "Serve it Forth" is another great site to check out:

Thanks as a remedy for your posting on this blog. From my own personal sophistication, on occasion softening up a photograph could contribute the photo shooter with an amount of an inspired flare. 2011-4-10 15:35:20 by ← → arrow keys to flip Editor's note: the days drifting away, but it is very clear days the educated youth to stay in the depths of memory, while in spontaneous labor busy, huh cultural activities, musical the music, pleasant voice pierced the night silence under, to disperse the fatigue, so that we forget the trouble and sorrow; regards to the author! - September 1968, my knowledge with young people in Shenyang City, countryside and mountainous areas of the army, came to the Xinmin County Liuzhun Gong Club Fort nest orchid house a small unit, day wore stars, Tangzhuo dew come down to earth farm work, accompanied by the setting sun, watching the smoke drift delicate call it a day to go home, to accept a poor peasant's re-education. Despite the heavy physical labor every day, we still maintain the vigor of youth and the spirit of optimism. When the night hit, the young point utterly still without electricity, we stared at the dark glitter of small kerosene lamp trance, there is always a lonely feeling lonely and sad thoughts of their loved ones. So, I find fun in the bitter, self-reliance, self-huh cultural activities. I used birch rod produced erhu, gehu the piano bar, a few small wooden stick into the erhu, qin tube Hu leather, qin tube front with into a piano surface, qin tube behind the plywood hollow carved with times to sneak into the barn, secretly from a big white horse's tail on a white-tailed hair washed Jiuxia made; I also use a length of bamboo cf clarinet refers to the location of the hole, hook furnace burns with finger holes, cut a small block write on the plastic plate mill made of reeds, one blow and the clarinet really sound the same; I also point to the second team youth, students learn to Liyou Ming Ruan production process, came back with my half-baked woodworking, and soon one of Nguyen quickly turned into a. Long summer night, we climbed a few boys, . Subsequently, one song after another lively music, a branch emotional songs from our hands and mouth out, we live in the village from the southeast corner of the quiet village fly, fly to fruits, vegetables breathing of fish jack fields, night flying white light under the Shenyang show ... ... vaguely remember the songs we sing: car the revolutionary model opera excerpts ... .... roof on the melodious sound of the piano, singing the next breaking the night silence, brings laughter, driving the day's fatigue, but also enrich and strengthen our boring life content. I remember I was welding a small transistor radio, shorthand way to record and listen to radio broadcasts while the music score and revolutionary model operas, after finishing the evening brought Chuiladanchang, a time we always interest from morning to night dynamic, too busy to forget the troubles and sadness, happiness is all around us surrounded. Singing Pieces also attracted to watch the members uncle smoking his bags, holding the child's aunt, as well as interested in our young members. Which members of the whistle blowing great Dong, his whistle a tie with our band, not to mention really have taste; members Zhu brother brought an erhu from home, teach us to play A song, music sound, we never tired of, interest is strong, has time to forget the night. Impressed me, that is, Treasure Island incident was widely circulated poem according to the martyrs Chen Shaoguang adaptation of a song called Firm majestic songs, such as complaints, such as weeping, optimistic and romantic, so far seems to still echo in the ears: blood, happy to celebrate the world
