The folks who founded CruiseCompete.com--the website where travel agents compete to get you the best cruise deal--have launched ResortCompete.com. Like it sounds, the website is built on the same model as CruiseCompete, but it's dedicated to all-inclusive resort deals. Currently, there aren't all that many resorts on offer (you have to choose from the company's list); it'll be interesting to see how it grows. We'll do an investigation into whether ResortCompete really can get you a better deal than you can on your own (with cruises, agents have quite a bit of wiggle room to give you a better deal and/or better amenities; whether that's the case for resorts remains unclear). Look for it in a future issue of the magazine.

Erik:
Thank you for writing about our new venture, ResortCompete.com. We really appreciate your interest and the exposure.
Consumer response so far has been beyond anything we could have imagined--thousands of requests from consumers and we've only been up for about a week and a half. There seems to be very strong interest in getting deals on all-inclusive resorts.
We're working hard to add enough sellers to respond to all of these quote requests. We have more than 70 travel agencies as members so far and more are coming on board daily, but I hope you'll give us a little bit of time before you test us for your readers. CruiseCompete.com currently generates an average of 5 quotes per request, and we're hoping to get ResortCompete's average up to at least 3 quotes per request within the next couple of months, but will take some time to get there.
One question for you. We had a team research and collect information on every all-inclusive resort they could find. To date we have 630 listed, which (as far as I know) is the most comprehensive list of all-inclusive resorts on the web. If you or your readers know of other all-inclusive resorts that we don't have listed, please let us know. We'd like to get them added ASAP.
Thanks again. Attention from opinion leaders in the media experts really means a lot to companies like ours, and we really do appreciate all you do to help promote new services.
Cheers!
